Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
CRM is a software system that helps you manage all your clients’ and prospects’ interactions. For instance, it helps you observe customer patterns and behaviours, which allows you to make important decisions and improvements. The primary purpose of CRM is to streamline your customer relationships to increase your sales.
CRM lets you know who your customers are, what they want, how they have interacted with your business and how they are likely to interact with your company in future. It also helps you generate leads and come up with targeted campaigns.
Types of CRM
There are different types of CRM, such as;
- Cloud-based CRM: A cloud-based CRM is hosted in the cloud, allowing you to access it from anywhere at any time through any device. So, whether you are at home or on vacation and you need to access some critical information, a cloud-based CRM makes it all possible. The CRM provider will be in charge of updating and maintaining your CRM, which leaves your in-house IT team with more time to focus on other revenue-generating tasks.
- On-premises CRM: This is a CRM that is hosted on the company’s server. It’s the exact opposite of a cloud-based CRM. A company’s IT team handle all the maintenance and updates. The advantage of on-premise CRM is that it gives the company full control, and the CRM is customised for the company’s specific needs.
- Hybrid CRM: This is a combination of cloud-based and on-premise CRM. You get to choose the system you want to use at any particular time. The downside is that you incur extra costs to maintain two different systems.
The CRM you choose will depend on your business needs, although most organisations are moving towards cloud-based CRM due to its mobility and ease of use.
